New Lockdown Guidelines to Follow in Nigeria Now

The lockdown guidelines which were provided by President Muhammadu Buhari will take effect after the weekend.

Abuja, Lagos and Ogun are the major states to partake in the directives by the federal government. However, Lagos state government have given have new directives before resumptions on 4 Monday.

Lagos Lockdown Guidelines

The directives provided by the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu for businesses to partially operate under the lockdown include:

Food delivery trucks coming from or entering Lagos state are not allowed to have more than seven passengers.

Schools and Religious gatherings will not reopen with other operatives and are to continue with online alternatives, mostly for learning.

Offices and businesses are to operate with fewer staff members.

Restaurants and eateries will operate with conditions including carrying out a thorough health check on staffs. While on duty, staffs must maintain high personal hygiene and gear up in masks and hand gloves at all times.

Transportation businesses are to follow the overnight curfew order as well as regularly sanitising their vehicles, parks and garages. Face masks are to be used at all times and passengers 40% less than normal.

Malls and markets Precautionary measures must be taken in the malls and markets. Attendees are to stand at least two meters apart from the next person.

Aside from the transport businesses who are allowed to operate 6 am – 6 pm, every other operation opens at 9 am – 3 pm. Physical distancing is still obligatory with at least a 50 – 60% occupancy in all locations.

Coronavirus safety protocols must be observed as hand sanitisers and temperature checks should be placed at entry points.

Transport operators are to apply the same protocols as stationary businesses. Hand sanitizer, hand washing equipment, and temperature checks are expected to be put in place at entry points.
