President Buhari New Lockdown Measures

President Buhari today addressed Nigerians on how to ease the lockdown and provided new lockdown measures to resume activities soon.

His noted in his statement that “our goal was to develop implementable policies that will ensure that our economy continues to function…”

Recognizing the impact of the lockdown, he said many Nigerians have lost their livelihood and businesses shut down due to lockdown.

Having worked together with all levels of the government, they worked together to balance the need to protect health and livelihood. They are leveraging the best practices and keeping in mind our circumstances.

They have accessed how people can get back to work while adhering to NCDC guildilines.

How students can learn without compromising their health and how farmers can stay safe farming while ensuring food security is not compromised. More food transfer to consumers.

Starting 4 Monday, May, the president approved a gradual to easing of the lockdown in Lagos, Ogun and the FC.

Some of the new measures to ease the lockdown which president Buhari gave during his speech include:

Overnight curfew beginning 8 pm to 6 am and a ban on interstate travel until further notice. Controlled interstate movement of goods and services from producers to consumers is allowed.

Mandatory use of face mask in public.

Restriction of religious and social gathering will remain in place.

Meanwhile, current lockdown orders in FCT, Lagos and Ogun states remains until the named date.

Border closures he noted yielded positives results and therefore land border arrivals protocols will continue.
