AstraZeneca COVID-19 Vaccine Nigeria

Will Nigeria stop the use of AstraZeneca COVID-19 Vaccine?

The National Primary Health Care Development Agency, NPHCDA released a statement last week saying that it is waiting for results from ongoing investigations on AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine.

It also said that while waiting, Nigeria will continue to administer the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine supplied to it through the COVAX facility.

However, more people asking why it is refusing to drop the vaccine which supposedly causes blood clot.

There is no definitive conclusion that the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine is the cause of blood clot. The coronavirus also causes blood clots and it is in fact perilous.

It should not be dismissed as the possible cause of the present issue.

If it is concluded that a specific batch of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine causes blood clots, the shots will stop.

Besides, one thing that is also obtainable is that not all COVID-19 vaccines will cause blood clots in the body.

The possible side effects of vaccines on the body system are short term flu-like symptoms which are signs that the body is responding to it.

It is also important to know that blood clot can happen without vaccination.

Many countries have put the use of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine on hold to look into the blood clot issues.

Unfortunately, there aren’t many vaccines available for COVID-19 and achieving herd immunity could become a challenge if more countries put it on hold.

The COVID-19 vaccines still appear to be safer than the coronavirus.
