Tech and software developers’ relations company Andela is expanding to accommodate developers from Latin, South America and several parts of the world.
Andela is a startup that serves remote engineering teams from Africa to companies and has done so for the last seven years. Though the company said it has received applications from outside Africa, it had mostly focused on connecting software engineers from the continent to clients.
GitHub, Cloudflare, and ViacomCBS are some of the companies in the scope of Andela’s service. Andela has delivered engineer teams to these companies for scaling and balance.
Andela’s globalisation of software engineers will display the diversity and regional expertise that companies seek for international growth.

Andela the last years
Before going remote in 2020, Andela had hubs in Nigeria, Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda where it searches for and trains engineers to join its teams for international clients.
Andela trains and mentors developers and helps them improve their skills. Also, it boasts producing over 100,000 engineers which according to a 2019 data, Andela has more than 1,500 engineers from 37 countries on its payroll.
Andela is based in New York and in 2020 when the pandemic hit it announced it would go remote and has been ever since.

Andela Funding
Since its establishment in 2014, Andela has raised more than $180 million (up to Series D) from firms like Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, Generation Investment Management, Google Ventures and Spark Capital, at a valuation of about $700 million.
The company was founded by Jeremy Johnson, Christina Sass, Nadayar Enegesi, Ian Carnevale, Brice Nkengsa and Iyinoluwa Aboyeji.
