Para-Powerlifting 2020 World Cup

The Para-powerlifting World Cup 2020 begins February 5 and ends February 7. It is a quadrennial championship sport for the disabled. This year it is held in Abuja and so far its been just the opening ceremony and things are a bit unstable. It set off as a more dramatic event than usual.

Officials of the ministry of sports have engaged in an argument with Queen Uboh-Idris the president of the Para Powerlifting Federation of Nigeria (PPFN). Apparently, roles and organisation have been misplaced.

The event was opened by the wife of the president, Aisha Buhari is now furthering into important segments. It is the qualifying stage of the Para-powerlifting World Cup 2020 and participants are will proceed to Japan in September for the next Paralympic Games.

Para-powerlifting has been running since 1994 and in 2014, the championship went to Nigeria.
