Updated order for company and business registration with CAC

Company Registration CAC

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) website and online registration portal is now automated and enables electronic company registration.

The CAC no longer accepts manual submission of applications and registration of companies as part of its improved system.

These are some of the latest services available at the CAC company registration portal.

Company or business data provision: The CAC portal at https://search.cac.gov.ng/home provides confirmation of a company’s corporate information. This service costs N1000.

Company registration and application is available at https://pre.cac.gov.ng/home.

Post incorporation changes: A company can make changes to its existing data on the CAC website at https://post.cac.gov.ng/login.

The CAC would either approve or reject an application and if approved, an applicant gets an E-Certificate which now also incorparetes the Tax Identfication Number, TIN.

Updated registration requirements on the CAC portal for running University Education

The application form on the CAC portal for applicants intending run a University Education now requires an attachment of these:

  • Letter of objection from National University Commission
  • It must be registered as Company Limited by Guarantee (LTD/GTE) under Part A of the Company and Allied Matters Act (CAMA) 2020

Checking the registration status of a company or business on CAC

It is possible to search for another company’s registration status whether for business purposes or other corporate reason through the CAC search box.

Anyone who wants to verify a company’s registration in Nigeria can also use the system.

Searching for a company by name will provide the RC Number, date of registration and other details available to the CAC.
