There is a sudden outburst to end HIV stigma which is trending on twitter with the hashtag #NormalizingHIVChallenge.
The challenge possibly originated from the UK following a Monday announcement that the UK government has released information for the funding of HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) which is rolling out this October.
A press release relating to this is published on the Department of Health and Social Care and the National Aids Trust websites. Local authorities received an allocation of PrEP funding for 2020 2021 according to the document which the government called PrEP grant determination.
#NormalizingHIVChallenge – What is PrEP
The PrEP is a daily preventive pill which is given to people without HIV, but who are at risk of infection with the slightest exposure. PrEP goes by the brand name Truvada and contains tenofovir and emtricitabine in it.
It is a vital medicine and has an important role to play henceforth. Thousands in the UK has called out to the government for long for this medicine.
The NormalizingHIVChallenge is led by the National Aids Trust and over 50 thousand people from different countries have made a statement about their HIV status. The challenge goes in this order:

- Home:
- Occupation:
- Relationship status:
- HIV status:
- ARVs:
They share their identity with name, photo and everything else. If HIV positive people are courageous enough to come out, they will need all the support they can get.
