The nationwide movements to END SARS (Special Anti-Robbery Squad) in Nigeria began without much credence on Wednesday but has now got some patronage from the Lagos House of Assembly.
The second day of the protests in Lagos saw youths in the city scow into the assembly where the Speaker Hon. Mudashiru Obasa met and talked to them.

The Lagos lawmakers are currently reviewing legislation that could see the SARS unit disbanded as promised by the speaker.
Speaking in the House on Friday morning, Nigerian actor and Lagos state lawmaker Desmond Elliot said “the IG of police must consider – they are working for the people. If the unit you set up is not working for the people and the people are calling for it to be disbanded, then let us do what they are saying”.

The lawmaker appears to be in alignment with what the people are saying. To end his statement he said that the SARS lack training in dealing in areas of dealing with people civilly.
Why End SARS in Nigeria
The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) set up the SARS unit to handle criminal issues. However, their operations are not receiving much praise lately. SARS members have gotten involved in criminal activities themselves. They use the position of authority against the rights of citizens which is also unjustifiable.
Staying up late all night to Thursday, the Lagos youths are refusing to leave until they see the SARS End. They are protesting persistent harassments and rampant killing of ‘young people‘ by SARS operatives.
Actors and TV personalities in Nigeria are also lending voices both on twitter where the protest is trending with #EndSARS. Some have also joined the End SARS country protest.
