NNPC Groups Upscales Health Insurance With New HMO

NNPC HMO

With an accreditation granted by the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), in 2019, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC group launched the Health Maintenance Organisation, HMO, during a virtual meeting on Tuesday, December 8.

The said establishment is a precursor to its plans towards a first-class medical system across Nigeria. Most likely, it will also become the preferred facility for medical trips by wealthy Nigerians rather than the UK, US, and others.

As a target examplar, the NNPC HMO is expected to boost euphoria for the NHIS given guaranteed unique healthcare provisions.

The groups intents to diversify its income channels is the backbone of the HMO project.

The NNPC group says it is counting on the “existing collaborative support of the NHIS to improve the acceptance of Health Insurance by Nigerians, develop the local Healthcare industry and curb medical tourism”.

According to Dr. Muhammed Nasir Sambo, NHIS Executive Secretary, the scheme is also confident that its accreditation will be utilized in full. More so, the entrance of the NNPC into Nigeria’s insurance market will “accelerate the attainment of the FG’s program of Universal health coverage.

Without a doubt, the NNPC is a powerhouse that can justify the ideals of Nigeria’s health insurance system.

The NNPC “aims to be the most preferred HMO as we contribute towards upscaling health insurance in the country,” Mallam Kyari said in a Twitter announcement.

NNPC HMO is a job and employment appeal and the cooperation will most likely announce openings and recruitment soon.
