To enhance the production capacity and increase revenue from its urea plant, Notore, chemical and agro-allied company in Nigeria recently announced that it is commencing a Turn Around Maintenance, TAM.

With TAM, the plant will be restored to its full capacity of 500,000 million tonnes per annum (MTPA).

More so, the reliability index of the plant will improve up to 95%, daily production output back to 1,500 MTPD.

At this level, Notore said, it can be sure of improved cash flow and an increase in annual revenue.

As a percept, the company is also installing a back-up power supply to the current Gas Turbine Generator according to the document sent to the Nigerian Stock Exchange, NSE.

Notore had earlier secured a seven-year tenured loan of $37 million from the African Export-Import Bank, (AfREXIm) for TAM. Consequently, the company ordered for critical components for the project.

The document further explains that late delivery of procured spares and the arrival to site of Vendor Service Men (VSM) had delayed the commencement of the TAM.

The company originally targets a maintenance period of one month. However, it has said that TAM would be complete by March 8, 2021.

Dangote Industries, Brass Fertilizer and Petrochemical Company Limited (BFPCL and Indorama are also making progress in fertilizer production in the country.
