Eid-el-Maulud Public Holiday in Nigeria 2020

The FG has given a day off as public holiday for the Eid-el-Maulud celebration on Thursday, October 29, 2020.

This is the worldwide occasion of the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad for the Muslim faithful.

Minister of Interiors Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola advises the Muslim community that imbibing the spirit of love, patience and perseverance would guarantee peace and security in the country.

As guidance to all Muslim brethren, he condemns the violence, lawlessness and daylight robbery going on the country at this time.

The minister encourages Nigerians and especially the youth to rally for peace and show solidarity to the effort of President Muhammadu Buhari led-Administration in virile nation-building. He calls for an end to all biases across the country.

The youths are the hope and future of the nation he said and further emphasises on democracy in the country. He said that Nigeria can overcome its challenges with this form of government.

Working together as a nation, through the democratic process can give the country victory over its challenges. He also tells the youths not to dampen democracy.

Rauf Aregbesola made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government. He felicitates with the Muslim faithful for witnessing another year of the Eid-el-Maulud. Mohammed Manga Director, Press & Public Relations, signed the statement.
