Cause of Deaths in Kano

The death toll in the Kano State of Nigeria is now going to be investigated by government officials. They are about to determine the cause of death of over 150 people in one of Nigeria’s foremost economic. The reports of the death came early Tuesday from Daily Trust newspaper. At the time, it reports that there was no known cause of the deaths in Kano State.

Health officials have told the WHO that they are looking closely to know if it coronavirus related. However, they mentioned that they still have their doubts.

Verbal autopsies from the deceased will help a government team set up for the investigation to eliminate some factors. Sani Aliyu, heads of the COVID-19 task force said, the autopsies will tell if coronavirus is the cause of the deaths in Kano State.

With 73 of 873 cases, Kano stands on the top 10 states that the coronavirus hit the most in Nigeria.
