Amidst Coronavirus Doctors in Nigeria Strike Over Lack of Payment

Doctors Strike in Nigeria

Doctors in Abuja, Nigeria is demonstrating the lack of payment with an “indefinite strike.” Nigerian Medical Association announced this Tuesday after the third coronavirus (COVID-19) case was confirmed in Lagos, Nigeria.

Why Doctors in Nigeria are going on strike

Lack of payment threatens the well being of doctors in Nigeria and the working conditions under coronavirus isn’t the easiest. Doctors in China gear up in diapers to empty their bowels while working on patients.

They also have to shave all body hair and used full hazmat suits. If the case in Nigeria gets to that, doctors want to be ready to face it as it comes. Without months of payment, they have deliberated on such a tedious working condition before arriving at the decision to strike.
