A petrol station around Ogba area of Lagos belonging to NNPC is currently on fire. Being situated very close to residential areas, the fire didn’t take time to spread to neighbouring buildings.
The fire began in the mid-morning and has continued to burn for at least two hours. There is an effort by the Federal Fire Service to put out the fire. However, due to strong flames and smoke, it is taking a while.
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency is also present to help the fire situation at the NNPC filling station. They are yet to determine the cause of the fire but so far assuming that it was caused by a nearby spark.
