WAEC 2020 Postponed – Students will have to wait one year

The 2020 Senior School Certificate Examination, WAEC, has been postponed to 2021 by the West African Examinations Council and National Examinations Council.

This is due to the coronavirus pandemic which has caused the cancellation of the world’s top events as well as school events.

The announcement was made by the Federal Government of Nigeria on Tuesday. Students will continue to learn online as the government has made provisions for that.

Emeka Nwajubu the Minister of Education talked about the online studies also said that NECO is postponed as well. NECO exams are conducted by the National Examination Council and sat one month apart from the WAEC.

Students who should sit for the postponed WAEC and NECO in 2020 will have to wait for the next session.
