NSHP: ₦2mn Will Afford Homes In Nigeria Under The FG Housing Scheme

After the CBN’s approval of N200 billion for mortgage financial facility to the Family Homes Fund in October, the NSHP scheme is duly accelerated for the construction of 300,000 homes in all states and the FCT of Nigeria.

As a component of President Buhari’s Economic Sustainability Plan, at least 1.5 million Nigerians will home homes from the housing scheme.

The National Social Housing Programme (NSHP) will deliver homes to Nigerians at a minimum rate of ₦2,000,000 only. The scheme will allow both individuals and cooperatives to own homes.

The National Social Housing Programme (NSHP) targets Nigerian with a low net earning. More so, it is a prime job creation project for architects engineers, quantity surveyors as well as artisans in the next years.

Application for a home in Nigeria under the NSHP

The FG has made provision for the registration of interested Nigerians on Nshp.gov.ng which will launch later in the week.

According to the website, applications will go through a qualification process for homes, which is going to be competitive. When an applicant is selected for a home, they will make contributions as arrangement begins for delivery.

The NSHP is open to only Nigerians who have valid identification documents, are 18 years or above and have reliable income sources. The website will also allow applicants to create profiles where their personal details will be displayed.

Aspiring homeowners in Nigeria can apply for homes under these categories:

  • 2 rooms (1 Bedroom House) – ₦2,000,000
  • 3 rooms(2 Bedroom House) – ₦2,750,000
  • 4 rooms (3 Bedroom House) – ₦3,500,000
