FIRST E&P works with Abigail-Joseph on oil production
Oil drilling from the Anyala West field, offshore in Nigeria has taken off led by Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC and its partner FIRST Exploration and Petroleum Development, FIRST E&P.
Anyala West is a hydrocarbon section among two other Anyala field – Anyala-Central and Anyala-East. The development of the Anyala West, a field contained in the oil mining lease (OML) 83, as well as its counterpart, the Madu field in the OML 85, is subject to the Anyala-Madu project.

Both OML 83 and 85, 20km apart in the shallow waters of the Niger Delta, off the coast of Bayelsa State. An unmanned conductor supported platform (CSP) is being utilized in the development of the fields.
FIRST E&P operators OMLs 83 and 85 with a 40% stake, which leaves the outstanding 60% stake to the NNPC. Phase 1 plans a total of seven development wells in the Anyala West field (OML 83) with the approval of the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR).

The Anyala – Madu field will develop 142 million barrels of oil and 98 billion standard cubic feet of gas. Abigail-Joseph Floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) secured the production deal for the Anyala – Madu development project.

The Abigail-Joseph FPSO who is under a seven-year contract with FIRST E&P has an oil processing capacity of 60,000 BPD. It is has a 700,000 barrel storage capacity.
At its peak, around 60,000 barrels of oil per day is expected from the project.
