President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed 38 persons on the Board of the Federal Character Commission and it includes a dead person. The name which might just be another cover for a ghost worker was Tobias Chukwuemeka Okwuru, an ex-lawmaker in Nigeria who passed away in February 2020.
The Nigerian Senate recieved the name in a list sent by president Buhari for confirmation.
The deceased was once a representative for Ikwo/Ezza Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives.
Such errors seem to be very likely at least with president Buhari who has made efforts to fight ghost working in government offices. It is comparable to a similar error which he made in 2017 giving appointments to five dead persons on the boards of federal agencies and corporations.
