The Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO), operating under the U.S. State Dept. which announced the award said that the U.S. consulate project will be ready by 2027.

More so, that Ennead Architects, a New York architect will handle the design for the contract.

OBO is a representative of the U.S. government who takes charge of providing reliable and functional facilities in a number of foreign policy supporting countries.

About Eko Atlantic and the U.S. consulate

Eko Atlantic is a space of 10 million square meters of land on the coast of Lagos State. The city is at an advanced stage of development and incorporates modern infrastructures and facilities.

These include an 8.5-km-long seawall for protection from rising sea levels and tidal erosion.

So far, only two towers – Alpha and Pearl – are in operation with about 5% of occupants.

The Eko Atlantic project and its economics are handled privately by South Energyx Nigeria Limited a subsidiary of the Nigeria-based Chagoury Group of companies.

The company gets its aids from the federal government of Nigeria and it works strategically with the Lagos state government.

The Eko Atlantic project has quickly become a notable investment opportunity with local and international businesses betting on its potentials.

The city’s plan consolidates distinctive management with advanced foreign systems making it investment-worthy.

The new Consulate General will further be a haven and provide more modern grounds for U.S./Nigeria diplomacy.
