Foreign airlines to Nigeria are denying boarding for COVID-19 PCR tests payments.
Travellers to Nigeria are being denied boarding by foreign airlines who are asking for COVID-19 PCR tests payment and proof of negative test results.
The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA has communicated to these airlines through a letter to give passage to passengers who do not have PCR code.
The NCAA said that it is experiencing difficulty in generating these codes after payment of the statutory fee.
However, the other half of the travellers denied boarding are affected by the rules installed around COVID-19 testing requirements. More so, other strict airlines rules are intercepting the set rules by the NCAA.
International travel has become more complicated with COVID-19.
Foreign airlines globally are combining rules from different countries and are taking them more seriously. They are therefore denying passengers boarding for all these COVID-19 testing rules put together.
Some airlines to Nigeria have told passengers to provide payment receipts for a second PCR test on arrival to their destinations. Others said that some of the tests are invalid. They are rejecting tests results presented by passengers saying that there is no proof of when the tests were taken.

The NCAA Director-General, Musa Nuhu has advised airlines to inform their passengers that they can make payments for the repeat day-7 COVID-19 PCR test on arrival to Nigeria.
All PCR Covid-19 test results for travellers to Nigeria must contain these information;
- Type of test
- Results issuer and location
- Sample collection date
- Passenger’s personal details – date of birth and passport number.
Information on the test results must meet the orders by the NCAA.
