Buhari Appoints Service Chiefs
Four generals – Maj Gen LEO Irabor, Maj Gen I Attahiru, Rear Adm AZ Gambo, AVM IO Amao have been appointed as new service chiefs by Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari.
The president has sent out his congratulatory message to the outgoing service chiefs. He said, “I thank them all for their overwhelming achievements in our efforts at bringing enduring peace to Nigeria, and wish them well in their future endeavours.”
New Service Chiefs appointed by President Buhari
Maj Gen LEO Irabor – The immediate Chief of Training and Operations, Defense headquarters.
Rear Adm AZ Gambo – Chief of the Naval Staff.
Major-General I. Attahiru – Chief of Army Staff
Air-Vice Marshal I.O Amao – Chief of Air Staff.
The new service chiefs will take charge of Nigeria’s major military formations.

The outgoing service chiefs who occupied the same offices – Chief of Defence Staff, Chief of Army Staff (Burutai), Chief of Naval Staff and Chief of Air Staff – were in service for five years.
