The new Twitter feature – Twitter Tip Jar – is part of the company’s next phase of its creator payment program. The feature allows for individuals to receive tips from their followers, as a means to encouragement for their efforts.
Twitter Tip Jar is in a test period and available to only a few users. However, these users will be able to receive tips from English Twitter users on both iOS and Android.
Tip Jar eligible users will find the option at the top of their profiles displayed as a cash icon.

How did Twitter choose eligibilty for its Tip jar?
Twitter says that the initial test pool for tipping will include “selected creators, journalists, experts, and nonprofits.”
The function supports payment via Bandcamp, Cash App, Patreon, PayPal and Venmo.
A live test of the new feature is already appearing on eligible user profiles.
