Jobs Affected by Coronavirus in Africa

The orders to shut down all enterprises due to coronavirus is affecting a group of people in Africa more than others. It has been lasting for at least a month now at least in South Africa. Some employees lost their jobs and many are not receiving payment while on lockdown. People whose jobs were affected by coronavirus lockdown can consider learning a skill and search for new jobs that are now hot in Africa.

Airline Attendant and Pilots: Airports all over the world were quick to ground flights in an effort to stop the virus from travelling. Most airline staffs all over the world now have to live on a reduced income and wait for as long the shut down lasts.

Beauty Centers, Gyms and Salons: Coronavirus is spread faster in crowded places. This led to the federal government in many countries forbidding large gathering including churches in Africa. Beauty centre which includes salons, spa and sometimes gyms basically have to work on people’s body parts. This puts everyone in this category at risk.

Handman: Homes and offices that usually need the services of a handyman for all kinds of maintenance now have to do it themselves. The handymen will have no jobs as log as the lockdowns last accept the bypass security men on the roads.

Repair Services: Another set of daily earners are phone repair services and companies. They, as well as auto mechanics, are among jobs in Africa who have also been affected by the coronavirus lockdown.

Bus and Taxi Drivers: Coronavirus lockdown continues to rock major cities like Lagos and Abuja. The president in Nigeria extended the orders which means there will be no travelling around to and from these cities. More so, other cities in Africa have blocked their borders keeping 90% or bus and taxi drivers at home.

Hotels and Recreation Centers Staffs: Hotels depend on travellers a lot to function and at this time the staffs are alomst all dismissed. The same is the case with recreation parks as everyone is trying to keep themselves and their families safe.

Film Theatres: Film theatres in big cities are always too busy and for safety reasons, people watch films online now.
