National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camps will reopen soon across the country following new government orders. For the last six months, orientation camps have been closed as ordered by the FG.
It was part of measures to cut down the spread of COVID-19 which was first reported in Nigeria in February.
Corp members would normally complete three weeks in the orientation camp before proceeding to their Places of Primary Assignment (PPA). But they were asked to leave before the due date.

Orientation camps are to reopen same time higher institutions reopen in Nigeria according to Dr Sani Aliyu, National Coordinator of the Presidential Taskforce on COVID-19 during a briefing Thursday.
NYSC authorities are expected to proceed with all safety protocols as Dr Aliyu noted that they intend to put strict guidelines in place. The guidelines will be tailored to make sure that COVID-19 breakouts at orientation camps are avoided.
In May, the 2019 Batch “B” Stream 1 Corps Members passing out without the usual parade. The authorities arranged for corp members to pick up their discharge certificates across Nigeria.
