The National ID card isn’t as difficult to get these days as it was a couple of years ago. The National Identity Management Commission in Nigeria, NIMC has made the ID card accessible through its mobile app.
National ID card registration is free and it is basically the same process for getting a NIN.

How to get a national ID card from the NIMC App in Nigeria
NIMC app is available for download on android and iPhone.
Activate the app after download and enter the number which is contained in the NIN slip. Dialling *346# will also give you the NIN number and this is followed by entering the registered phone number.
An attestation pops up after that and it is supposed to be accepted after being read.
Choose a pin for the action and that’s the end. The screen redirects to the NIMC front page where its mobile ID features are, then select ‘Show my ID’.
Taking this last step presents the national ID card which should be downloaded and printed out on paper or plastic.
