The coronavirus deaths on Monday night exceeded 1 million worldwide – a significantly dismal cost for those who died and those who are still fighting to survive it.
As with the confirmed cases and deaths in the US, Brazil is also now a hotspot for the infection having seen over 1200 deaths on its worst days.
Both the US and Brazil make up over 30% of the 1 million coronavirus deaths (the US- 205 000, Brazil – 142 000) that the WHO recorded Monday night.
