Flutterwave a Nigerian founded fintech based in San Francisco is partnering with Uber to launch a new digital wallet feature Uber Cash in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Flutterwave’s has a host of international money transfer partners throughout Africa which riders can use to top up Uber wallets.
Alon Lits, Uber General Manager for Sub-Saharan African Region said that Uber Cash will begin operating this week.
Using Uber Cash feature in Nigeria
The use of the new feature Uber Cash for top-up will vary from country to country. Uber Cash users in Nigeria will need a verve card or mobile money and this is different from Kenya and other countries.
Flutterwave’s Barter payment app which was launched with Visa can also be used for transfer on Uber Cash in Africa.
