SCD JV Consortium which comprises of Saipem, Chiyoda and Daewoo affiliates have secured the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for Train 7 from Nigeria LNG (NLNG).
The NLNG Train 7 contract is currently valued at over $4 billion according to a statement by Saipem whose share is about $2.7 billion.
NLNG has said that it is committing fully to the Train project which will increase productivity by 35%. With six-train plant already in existence, production capacity is at 22 to 30 Million Tonnes Per Annum (MTPA).

What is NLNG Train 7?
Train 7 is a major growth plan by NLNG. It will involve the company’s expansion of its six-train liquefaction and purification facility. The company expects that the project will provide an output of liquefied natural gas (LNG) by more than 35%.
Nigeria places 9th in the world for gas reserves with 202 tcf and NLNG expects to keep it that way.
Detail Design and Construction phase of the Train 7 project is commencing. The Minister of State for Petroleum Timipre Sylva spoke on the contract during an online event. He said that Train 7 is a five-year project with hopes for a rebound in demand.
