A team of scientist from Nigeria, led by Dr Oladipo Kolawole, a lead researcher said that they have discovered a vaccine for coronavirus. The prototype has been through validation processes and would work according to the scientists.
Having been designed with the African population in mind, Dr Kolawole said he also believes it would be effective for other races.

Speaking to reporters, Prof. Julius Oloke, the Head of the Coordinating Unit of the Research Group said: “The vaccine is real. We have validated it severally. This is a result of the determination. It took a lot of scientific efforts.”
A human trial of the coronavirus vaccine from Nigeria, which they are yet to name is ongoing around the world. The team will now seek regulatory approval which will take some time as it also requires some extent of research and analysis. The vaccine could, therefore, take another 18 months before it is available to the public.
