OPay International Money Transfers

OPay International Money Transfers

Local money operator in Nigeria OPay is expanding its services to offer international money transfers in partnership with global payment company WorldRemit.

Nigerians will be able to transfer and receive money directly into their OPay mobile wallets from over 50 countries worldwide. According to Opay’s Director of Remittance Service, Mr Kunle Olamuyiwa, the service is ready to launch in September and it will be affordable.

How to use the OPay International Money Transfers service

Not all OPay customers can access the new service immediately. To be able to use the new service, old and new customers must be on KYC 2 level and above. OPay app is available for download on Google Playstore for android users and iOS store for iPhone.

The traditional money transfer method which is either done via mobile banking apps or in-bank used to be the easiest before the arrival of OPay.

Recently, OPay has offered a sound mobile money service to Nigerians making cash transactions more convenient. It has over 300,000 agent locations spread across the country working within its jurisdiction of mobile money transfers.

The new OPay and WorldRemit partnership will enable OPay to include everyone especially those without a local bank account. COVID-19 pandemic interrupted transfer around the world and this is one of the fronts for the OPay and WorldReit partnership.
