More people are taking steps into online shopping more than ever and retailers in Africa are reforming market strategies to get to customers during the coronavirus lockdown.

To get more people to embrace shopping online in Africa during the pandemic and lockdown, both Jumia and Konga are making offers.
Jumia consumers are getting a price slash on over 6 million home essential products and groceries. The company also encourages its customers who are finding it hard to get items during the lockdown to avoid contacts. Jumia payment system, JumiaPay enables contactless payments and is promoted by the company now. Customers also get their orders delivered to the doorstep without any contact whit the deliveryman.

Jumia CEO Sacha Poignonnec stated that the company is already doing its best to support government efforts in the coronavirus fight. They will deliver certified face masks to health ministers in countries that they operate including Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda and Morrocco.
Konga is adjusting its working methods to meet the coronavirus situation. The company is offering consumers 10 million Covid-19 intervention package as well as free delivery.
