Jobs For Passing Out NYSC Graduates in Lagos
Over 1,275 companies showed interest in absorbing passing out NYSC graduates for an internship the Lagos State Government states.
The state government had earlier announced that it wants to approve unemployed graduates in the state for a 6-month internship program under the 2020 Lagos State Graduates Internship Placement Program (LASGIPP).
The internship program was originally meant for 2000 but was upgraded to 4,000 to accommodate more recipients.
Lagos State Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Mrs Yewande Arobieke who spoke to the press about the LASGIPP said that over 2000 unemployed youths have gotten internship positions through the program.
While some are temporary, there are also those who got full-time employment after the internship. She named a few banks – Eco, Fidelity, and WEMA banks – as some of those whom the program have placed interns with.
Others like Main One, Health Plus Ntel, Meyer Plc, Ikoyi Club 1938, Mantrac Nig. Ltd, Sterling Bank, Cars 45, and Lagos Tax Project have also absorbed interns.

The state works alongside the Ministry of Youth and Social Development in the internship program to render opportunities to the unemployed the minister noted.
Application for the NYSC graduate program in Lagos
According to the minister, the unemployed post-NYSC graduates, resident in Lagos will receive one-month intense coaching. This way, they will develop knowledge and skill to work anywhere.
The programme accepts applications fresh Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma graduates. More so, they must be a resident in one of the 57 Local Governments/Local Council Development Areas (LGA/LCDAs) in Lagos.

Applicants must present NYSC certificates, evidence of residence and Lagos State Resident Registration Agency (LASRRA) issued identity.
The programme would allow more companies and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to choose from the state’s intern database subsequently.
