NNPC Autogas

NNPC Autogas

NNPC aims to introduce autogas use in all states of Nigeria.

Nigeria has launched an action in connection to the National Gas Expansion Programme, NGEP, aiming to encourage the use of autogas.

During his speech at the virtual launch of NGEP, President Muhammadu Buhari said: ” it is a realisation of government’s commitments to domestic gas utilisation”.

Nigerian Minister of State for Petroleum Resources Timipre Sylva and head of Nigerian National Petroleum Corp. (NNPC) Mele Kyari were also at the launch of the programme at the Lugbe LPG dispensing station.

CNG Buses

Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) received keys to five Compressed Natural Gas, CNG, powered buses from Timipre Sylva during the launch of NGEP with another 100 coming in the next phase.

The FG has also agreed that 1 million autogas conversion facilities, storage and dispensing units will be delivered under the NGEP by December 2021.

This is a commitment from the FG after agreeing to roll out palliative measures in response to threats from the NLC industrial action over the energy price hike and the removal of subsidies on petrol.

NNPC Autogas Solution

The NNPC is making it easy for motorists to shift from petrol to autogas by providing a conversion service. Mele Kyari said the corporation is focusing on providing these service in areas with existing autogas service stations.

The FCT Abuja, Kaduna, Kano, Kogi, Kwara, Ogun, Ondo, Oyo, Lagos, Edo, Delta, Rivers and Bayelsa States included.

According to Kyari, NNPC will expand the NGEP initiative to all its filling stations across Nigeria. Motorists can rest assured of an affordable and stable Autogas supply.
