Nigerian firm Platform Capital has invested the sum of $100,000 in Johannesburg based startup, Merge Tech. Platform Capital is a private investment firm, providing capital to almost all sectors of startups while working towards growth.

The firm announced the $100,000 investment recently and Merge has already received the sum which amounts to $24,986.

Merge is a digital platform for entrepreneurs and investors to meet and connect. The app allows them to communicate their needs to see how they can match up. Merge is available as an app but also on the web

Since it was founded in 2017, it has matched at least 300 investors with entrepreneurs. Its database contains at least 1,000 entrepreneurs and 200 investors from South Africa, UK and Nigeria.

Both investors and entrepreneurs can use the app free for now. But the founders of the platform Brandon Bate and Zander Matthee, are hoping to create a premium version with more benefits later.

Merge generates its revenue by referrals offer to accelerators and venture capitals.
