Lockdown in Lagos

Lockdown in Lagos

Traders, transporters and more people in Lagos are looking forward to getting back to work soon after weeks of lockdown. They have grown desperate and vulnerable to the situation under the lockdown.

Parents struggle to feed their children and those who live on daily earnings running out of supplies. Some areas are also hit more than others and hoping to get some kind of relief for staying at home until they can get back to work.

Red Cross gave out some relief items to residents of Makoko community in Lagos who are struggling during the lockdown.

The organisation is hoping that families can hold onto these items for at least one week before they resume the new lockdown measures.

Since its index case, Lagos has recorded at least 1,300 coronavirus cases and 40 deaths fatalities.
