Obinwanne ‘Invictus Obi’ Okeke is a Nigerian business person, with a profile in sourcing, structuring, implementing, monitoring in investment, and also fraud.

Having over 10 years of practice in business and investment, from age 14 and been a part of the energy solution, his purpose began to materialize decades later. Invictus Obi founded the ‘Invictus Group of Companies’ which now operates in Nigeria, South Africa and Zambia.

A recognition by Forbes in 2016 put him on the list of 30 entrepreneurs under 30 to watch out for. Okeke’s investments traverse through real estate development, energy and construction.

Obinwanne ‘Invictus Obi’ Okeke Fraud: FBI Arrests CEO Invictus Group

In June 2020, the FBI arrested Invictus Obi, the CEO of Invictus Group. He was charged for conspiracy to commit computer and wire fraud. He is now in Virginia, in federal custody.

The FBI began investigating him in 2018. The investigation was in connection to complaints from Unatrac Holding Limited a UK subsidiary of heavy equipment manufacturer Caterpillar.

Unatrac said Obi gained unauthorized access into the email account of its chief financial officer. He is behind a series of fake invoices totalling $11million.

Obinwanne Okeke pleaded guilty to the $11million fraud and is now waiting his sentence coming in October.

The Invictus Group

The Invictus Group is an African investment company that operates varied subsidiaries including the Invictus Energy Limited, a renewable energy business in Nigeria. Its associates and partners companies contribute to its distinction.

The company also offer technical advice to customers on design, engineering and installation of small, medium and large scale Photovoltaic (PV) Solar systems. The group has won the Africas most innovative investment company of the year award.

Invictus Obi was also nominated for the All Africa business leaders award for young business leader and Africas most prestigious business award for businessmen.
