The Nigerian government has made an arrangement in a program it calls Survival Fund NG for micro, small and medium enterprises, MSMEs to receive funding. It calls on businesses who have an interest in benefiting from the Survival Fund NG as well as Nigerians who have interest in the Payroll Support scheme to take note of the opening date, and how to register.
According to the twitter post by Government of Nigeria: “As the portal for registration of prospective beneficiaries of #SurvivalFundNG opens today, interested Nigerians in the Payroll Support scheme are to note that the site will be open from 10 pm Monday, September 21, 2020”.

How to apply and register for the Survival Fund NG
The portal for registration for the Survival Fund NG is http://survivalfund.gov.ng. The FG also classified the registration saying this will ensure that “the process is seamless & hitch-free”.
- Educational institutions are to register for Payroll support at 10 pm on Monday, Sept 21, 2020.
- Businesses in the hospitality industry on will apply at 12 am Friday, September, 25.
- Other categories of small businesses are to apply at 12 am, Monday, Sept 28, 2020.
The funding is to support at least 500,000 MSMEs lagging in payroll duties to pay up to N30,000 to N50,000 per employee. Each MSME could be able to sustain not less than 10 employees for the next 3-month period with the funding. More so, the Survival Fund NG is an aid to conquer the lasting effects of COIVD-19 on the economy.
The vice president Yomi Osinbajo’s statement in April said that the FG had concerns regarding the effects of the lockdowns. He proposed funding for daily earners who are most hit by the lockdowns like salon workers, auto mechanics and others.
