President Muhammadu Buhari has announced the passing on of his personal bodyguard, Wo Lawal Mato. A statement released on his death shows that Wo Lawal Mato fought diabetes for three years.
Mato had been part of the president’s unit for many years before his emergence as president in the 2015 elections. However, he went off duty for three years since his illness.
The deceased was a thorough, trustworthy and dependable soldier. He carried out his duty with diligence and focus according to president Buhari.
